The 2023 Tata Nexon EV Facelift: A Redesigned and Feature-Packed Electric SUV

Tata Motors has unveiled the highly anticipated facelift of its Nexon EV, marking the first major update for the popular electric SUV. The 2023 Nexon EV comes with a fresh design, innovative features, and advanced equipment, making it an exciting contender in the electric vehicle market.

Visually, the facelifted Nexon EV draws inspiration from the Curvv Concept, giving it a futuristic and concept-like appearance. The front end features a sleek LED strip that seamlessly connects across the nose, adding a touch of sophistication. Additionally, the LED strips at the front and rear showcase a lightning sequence for a unique welcome and goodbye experience.

To enhance aerodynamics and efficiency, Tata has incorporated air vents on the sides of the bumper, contributing to a two percent increase in the vehicle’s range. The facelifted Nexon EV continues to maintain its high ground clearance of 205mm, along with the signature C-pillar design that distinguishes it as part of the Nexon family.

Moving to the rear, the tail lamps are now connected in the center, adorned with a sharp crease and a smoked black design. The rear wipers are cleverly hidden within the roof-mounted spoiler. Buyers can choose from seven different colors to suit their preferences.

Inside the cabin, the Nexon EV receives a significant overhaul. The redesigned interior showcases a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, exclusively available for the Nexon EV. Sourced by Harman, the widescreen display offers excellent touch response and user-friendly menus. A standout feature is the Arcade app suite, which enables users to download apps, including OTT platforms for streaming movies, shows, and music. However, streaming is only accessible when the vehicle is stationary. The Nexon EV also boasts a JBL nine-speaker sound system, delivering immersive audio quality for an enhanced driving experience.

Under the hood, the updated Nexon EV retains its previous-generation electric motors but introduces Gen 2 motors that are lighter by 20 kilograms. These motors incorporate improved energy consumption algorithms based on data collected by Tata EVs on the road, providing optimized performance and efficiency. The regenerative braking system, controlled via paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, offers enhanced range and efficiency.

Notably, the new Nexon EV introduces vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle charging systems. The former enables users to charge home appliances using the power from the Nexon EV, while the latter facilitates charging of other electric vehicles.

The 2023 Nexon EV is available in India across six variants: Creative+, Fearless, Fearless+, Fearless+ S, Empowered, and Empowered+. Pricing starts at Rs. 14.74 lakh for the base variant, going up to Rs. 19.94 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec variant.

This facelift positions the Tata Nexon EV as a strong competitor in the electric vehicle market, combining its appealing design, advanced features, and updated technology to provide customers with an electrifying driving experience.
