Trevor Bayne Set for Final Scheduled Start of 2023 Season at Texas Motor Speedway

Trevor Bayne is gearing up for his third and final scheduled start of the 2023 season in the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra at the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 in Texas Motor Speedway. Bayne achieved his first career victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) at this track back in 2011. Throughout his NXS career, he has accumulated one win, one top-five, one top-10 finish, and has led 25 laps.

Bayne has also had 17 starts in the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) at Texas Motor Speedway, leading 16 laps and averaging a finish of 22.5. In his most recent race at Bristol, Bayne impressed with a seventh-place finish after methodically working his way into the top-five. This strong performance moved the No. 19 car up to fourth in the Owner’s Points standings with two races remaining in the Round of 12.

This weekend’s race in Texas is crucial for the No. 19 team’s push for the Owner’s Championship. With just an 18-point cushion over the cutoff line, the team understands the importance of a solid performance. Bayne, along with Myatt Snider and Joe Graf Jr., will be running the rest of the season, determined to secure the championship for their team.

Bayne will have the experienced crew chief, Jason Ratcliff, on his pit box. Ratcliff has been with the JGR team for 18 seasons and has an impressive record. Under Ratcliff’s leadership, Bayne achieved a second-best average finish of 8.0 in 2022. Ratcliff has 56 Xfinity wins as a crew chief and 15 Cup Series wins with JGR drivers Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano.

The JGR No. 19 has seen a rotating schedule of drivers this season, including Myatt Snider, Ty Gibbs, Connor Mosack, Ryan Truex, Denny Hamlin, Joe Graf Jr., and Bayne. With three wins from Truex, Gibbs, and Hamlin, the team currently sits fourth in the owners’ points standings.

Joe Gibbs Racing has a strong history at Texas Motor Speedway, with 16 NXS wins, 44 top-fives, 72 top-10s, and 10 poles. The most recent victory came in 2021 with John Hunter Nemechek.
