    NHPC Appoints Raj Kumar Chaudhary as Director, Technical

    NHPC, a leading hydroelectric power generation company, has announced the appointment of Raj Kumar Chaudhary as the director, technical. This appointment is valid until June 30, 2025, and has been made in accordance with the directive from the Ministry of Power, Government of India.

    Raj Kumar Chaudhary is a highly qualified individual, holding a degree in Civil Engineering from BIT (Sindri) and an Advance Diploma in Management. With a successful career spanning over three decades, Chaudhary initially joined NHPC in 1989 as a Probationary Executive (Civil) at Koel Karo HEP, Jharkhand. Since then, he has made significant contributions to the company’s growth and development.

    Throughout his career, Chaudhary has held various positions in the Cost Engineering department, Design & Engineering department, as well as in four Construction Projects of NHPC – Koel Karo, Kalpong, Teesta-V, and Subansiri Lower. Additionally, he has also contributed to the successful completion of two construction projects in Bhutan, namely Mangdechhu and Punatsangchhu-II.

    Chaudhary’s expertise lies in all aspects of hydroelectric project development, from conceptualization to commissioning. His notable achievements include the completion of the Kalpong H.E Project ahead of schedule, the commissioning of the Teesta-V H.E Project in Sikkim, and the Mangdechhu H.E Project in Bhutan.

    Furthermore, Chaudhary served as an expert member in the repair of the HRT (Head Race Tunnel) of the 1020 MW Tala HEP Project in Bhutan. His vast experience and expertise have made him a valuable asset to NHPC and the industry as a whole.

    In addition to his role as director, technical at NHPC, Chaudhary also holds the position of a nominee director in Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited.
