Tesla Continues Preparations for Cybertruck Production at Giga Texas

Several Cybertrucks have been spotted recently at Tesla’s Austin, Texas Gigafactory, indicating that preparations for the production of the highly anticipated electric pickup are well underway. Recent drone footage captured the delivery of manufacturing equipment labeled for use on the Cybertruck production line to Giga Texas. The equipment includes pre-fabricated robotic assembly units marked specifically for the Cybertruck. The presence of five Cybertrucks at the facility, three at the crash testing site and two in the outbound lot, further confirms the progress being made.

This development follows a previous sighting of two Cybertrucks outside the Giga Texas crash lab, suggesting that Tesla was conducting its own crash tests in preparation for official testing by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Cybertruck still requires NHTSA crash testing and a Certificate of Conformity before it can be released to the public.

Tesla has already built its first Cybertruck at Giga Texas in July and has been manufacturing pre-production versions of the electric pickup since then. These pre-production models have been spotted in various locations, including Tesla’s Supercharger station in Roseville, California, the Las Vegas strip, and other public roads.

The arrival of the manufacturing equipment at Giga Texas coincides with the news that the Cybertruck has received over two million reservations. This has sparked speculation about when customers can expect their reserved Cybertrucks to be delivered. While initial deliveries could potentially begin as early as October, volume production is scheduled for 2024.

Tesla’s continued progress in preparing for Cybertruck production at Giga Texas demonstrates the company’s commitment to delivering this highly anticipated electric pickup to customers in the near future.
