    Hydro One Powers North America’s Largest Agricultural Event

    Hydro One, together with its partners Aggreko, LineStar, Milwaukee Tools, and Wesco International, is proud to provide power for the 2023 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo (IPM). The event, held in Bowling Green, Dufferin County, is the largest celebration of agriculture and rural living in North America.

    For over 20 years, Hydro One has been supporting the IPM by building the electrical grid that powers various activities, including plowing competitions, vendor exhibits, and live entertainment. With over 80,000 visitors annually, the IPM is an important event for farming customers and rural communities.

    Lindsay Zylstra, Vice President of Supply Chain at Hydro One, expressed pride and honor in energizing this important event for their customers. Hydro One is dedicated to supporting the rural, farming, and small business communities, and the IPM is an opportunity for them to give back.

    The company’s partners, including Milwaukee Tools and Aggreko, are enthusiastic about joining Hydro One at the event. Milwaukee Tools, in particular, sees this as an opportunity to showcase their tools and solutions and highlight the strong partnership between the two companies.

    Wesco International, Hydro One’s distribution partner for over 30 years, is excited to co-sponsor the IPM. Mike Barron, Vice President of Utility Canada Sales, expressed their commitment to celebrating the agricultural and rural community that Hydro One serves.

    Hydro One has installed approximately 200 poles, 800 meters of conductor, and 45 electrical transformers for the event. Building the grid took around 1,920 hours. Visitors of all ages can visit the Hydro One site during the event to learn more about their partners and experience how Hydro One powers communities across Ontario every day.
