GreenFire Energy and Taiteck Win Tender for Geothermal Feasibility Study in Taiwan

GreenFire Energy, through its channel partner Taiteck Co., has secured the tender for a feasibility study of advanced geothermal system (AGS) by CPC Corporation, Taiwan. The project, which began on June 26, 2023, aims to explore Taiwan’s geothermal resources potential using GreenFire Energy’s GreenLoop technology.

As the state-owned petroleum company of Taiwan, CPC Corporation is responsible for supplying energy to the domestic market. In alignment with the nation’s energy transition policy, CPC is actively promoting geothermal power generation. The company has extensive expertise in exploration and drilling technologies that can be applied to geothermal energy development.

Taiteck Co., an energy engineering company based in Taiwan, specializes in the supply of domestic energy equipment and services. They have a proven track record in oil and gas drilling, production, and power supply.

GreenFire Energy has developed the GreenLoop technology, a versatile, closed-loop AGS that can access a wide range of geothermal and certain oil and gas resources. Unlike conventional geothermal technology, GreenLoop enables operators and developers to retrofit idle wells, expand existing fields, and develop new geothermal resources in a cost-effective manner.

Under the partnership between GreenFire and CPC, the aim is to expand the scale of geothermal power generation in Taiwan and contribute to the country’s net-zero emissions goals. This marks a significant milestone in the development of geothermal energy in Taiwan.
