Mahindra and Mahindra has announced the third price hike for its flagship SUV, the Scorpio-N. The price increase comes just in time for the festive season. The starting price of the Scorpio-N SUV has been increased by at least ₹21,000, according to the carmaker’s official website.
Launched in June last year, the Scorpio-N SUV was initially priced at ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in five variants: Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L, which come with both petrol and diesel engine options. The entry-level diesel variant Z2 has seen a price increase to ₹13.76 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the top-spec diesel variant Z8L 4WD with automatic transmission, the most expensive in the lineup, now costs ₹24.53 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of the top-end petrol variant Z8L six-seater with automatic transmission has also been raised to ₹21.78 lakh (ex-showroom).
Out of all the variants, the Z4E Diesel 4WD variant with seven seats and manual transmission has received the largest price hike of Rs. 81,000. Its new price is ₹18.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the third time that Mahindra and Mahindra has increased the price of the Scorpio-N SUV, with previous hikes taking place in January and April.
The Scorpio-N SUV is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which can deliver 197 bhp of maximum power and 380 Nm of peak torque. It is available with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. Additionally, there is a 2.2-litre diesel engine option, which can generate 173 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque.
The Scorpio brand, which includes both the Scorpio-N and the Scorpio Classic SUVs, is the best-selling model from Mahindra and Mahindra. The carmaker has been selling over 9,000 units of these SUVs on average in India.
