Ola Electric to Showcase Electric Superbike Concept, Diamondhead, at MotoGP

Ola Electric, the Indian electric vehicle manufacturer, will be showcasing their electric superbike concept, Diamondhead, at the upcoming MotoGP event in India. Diamondhead is one of four concept electric two-wheelers that Ola Electric unveiled at their event on August 15, 2023.

The Diamondhead sports a futuristic and minimalistic design, reminiscent of something seen in sci-fi movies. Its front features a large diamond-shaped panel housing a light strip, with the actual headlamp unit positioned underneath. The overall design gives it the appearance of a semi-faired motorcycle. The bike is equipped with disc brakes on both ends and has a covered rear wheel for improved aerodynamic efficiency. The front suspension is also positioned at an unconventional angle, nearly parallel to the ground.

Although details about the powertrain are limited, it is expected that the Diamondhead will outperform the Ultraviolette F77, which currently holds the title of the most sporty electric motorcycle available in the Indian market. With greater power, the Diamondhead will likely come with a higher price tag and serve as Ola Electric’s flagship product.

The Diamondhead will likely be showcased alongside Ola Electric’s other concept models, including the Cruiser, Adventure, and Roadster, at the Indian GP. Pre-reservations for these motorcycles have already begun, with an anticipated launch by the end of 2024.

MotoGP is making its debut in India and will take place at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) from September 22 to 24, 2023. The preparation for the event is well underway, with the arrival of the safety car and bike at the track.

Overall, Ola Electric’s presence at MotoGP demonstrates the company’s commitment to promoting electric two-wheelers in India and positioning themselves as a key player in the electric vehicle market.
