BYD India, the Indian branch of Chinese automaker BYD, achieved a significant milestone by delivering 200 Atto 3 electric SUVs in a single day across six cities in the country. The delivery events were organized in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi. The timing of the deliveries aligned with the festive season, adding to the excitement of the customers.
The Atto 3, a mid-size electric SUV, was launched last year and has received positive feedback from customers. The delivery events featured live music powered by the vehicle’s V2L (Vehicle to Load) feature, which allows it to power external devices or even a small room. This showcased the capabilities of the model and added to the overall experience of the customers.
Customers received their keys to the Atto 3, with some choosing the First Edition variant in the special Forest Green color. Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business at BYD India, expressed gratitude for the support of the dealership network in achieving this milestone. He emphasized BYD India’s commitment to a cleaner and greener future and thanked customers and partners for their support.
The Atto 3 comes equipped with BYD’s Blade battery technology and a 60.48 kWh battery pack, providing a range of 521 km on a single charge (ARAI certified). It is powered by a single PMS electric motor delivering 150 kW (201 bhp) and 310 Nm of torque. The SUV boasts a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 160 kmph.
Charging the Atto 3 is convenient, with a claimed charging time of 50 minutes from 0-80% using DC fast charging. The vehicle also features advanced safety and convenience technologies such as Level 2 Advanced Driving Assistance System, seven airbags, a panoramic sunroof, NFC card key, and V2L capability. The 12.8-inch adaptive rotating infotainment screen and the 360-degree holographic transparent imaging system enhance the driving experience.
The BYD Atto 3 competes with models like the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric in the segment. It is locally assembled in India.
