Voltalia has taken up a 40 year lease an area of 22 hectares in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (Departement 04) for a solar project. The landholding will allow work to start on a solar park with an initial size of 12MW, with startup planned in 2010. Voltalia says this first major French solar park demonstrates the company's interest in becoming a major player in the solar market. The company has an order book of 85 megawatts of projects in Greece and French Guiana. The company is also operating in Greece. The company's geographical expansion of solar park installations allows Voltalia has allowed the company to onfirm that its current plans will exceed its target of 100MW of installations by 2013.
