SSF Solar Screen Factory GmbH has opened a new solar plant. The factory is a production facility for solar cell metallisation screens at Micro-Tech-Park, in Thalheim, Saxony-Anhalt. In the presence of state secretary Detlef Schubert, the board of directors of the Swiss parent company, Mr. Wolfgang Maute, Mr. Peter Spenger and Mr. Karl Moser, opened the new production facility in Thalheim, Micro-Tech-Park on 23 November 2006. With an investment of 1.7 million euro, SSF solar screen factory GmbH built the new "state-of-the-art" production facility on its 6500 square meter site in the "Micro-Tech-Park" in Thalheim. Project management was carried out by the Swiss ICT International Control Technology AG, which is specialised in the construction of production facilities for the photovoltaic industry.

In the first stage of expansion, the single shift production capacity is approximately 4000 precision screens per month. The production started with the first seven employees this month, with up to 15 skilled engineers and technicians expected to be employed at the next stage of production.
SSF solar screen factory GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of SSF solar screen factory AG with headquarter in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. The Economic Development Company of Saxony-Anhalt (WiSA), as well as the (EWG) Development- and Economic development company Bitterfeld advised the company in the search for the location and in questions of investment cost backing.
